The salary range reflected above is the normal hiring range for 2021. The full salary range, including longevity pay, is $17.75 - $23.55 per hour.
This position is part of the Civil Service Basic Union Contract represented by Council 5 of AFSCME.
Routine janitorial maintenance work at an assigned County facility.
Distinguishing Features of Work:An employee in this class performs a variety of tasks to ensure the cleanliness, sanitation, safety and security of County facilities. Duties include cleaning facilities, maintaining equipment and making minor repairs. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.
Work Environment:These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT: Balance, grasp/handle, stand, walk and vision. FREQUENT: Lift and carry up to 10 pounds; reach, rotate trunk, stoop/bend, works alone, outside. OCCASIONAL: Push/pull up to 10 pounds, climb stairs, crouch/squat, customer/public contact. RARE: Lift up to 20 pounds, lift/carry up to 40 pounds, push/pull up to 55 pounds, climb step ladders, crawl, kneel, reach above shoulder, sit.
Selection Process:MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Six (6) months full-time paid verifiable experience in custodial, janitorial, building maintenance or closely related work.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Supplemental questionnaire will be 100% of the scoring process:
Points will be awarded based on the applicants answers to supplemental questions 10-15.
