Principal, Senior High School

Position Title: High School Principal
Primary Location: Winona Senior High School

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Superintendent of Schools, the Principal provides leadership for the instructional program, as well as coordinating the implementation, review, and revision of the curriculum at the building level. Manages the operation and all functions of the school. Supervises school staff regarding instruction, curriculum, student programs and concerns, and building operations ensuring adherence to school and District policies, regulations and goals. Schedules and attends meetings, as appropriate.

Qualifications: Must hold a valid Principal's license issued by the Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board. Candidates should have excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate information to a culturally diverse cross-section of individuals and organizations; excellent organizational skills; demonstrated effective leadership skills; demonstrated experience in driving, promoting and valuing a diverse and inclusive school environment; and strong short-term and long-term planning abilities focused on continuous improvement and innovation. Candidates should be supportive of community/parent involvement and should be able to network with community groups; and should have an understanding of fiscal and ethical responsibility. Preference may be given to candidates who have previous experience as a Principal with demonstrated results raising student achievement.
