WSDOT is currently seeking to fill a Bridge Engineer 3 (In-Training) position. This position is responsible for serving as an Under Bridge Inspection Truck (UBIT) Operator/Co-Inspector in support of federally mandated bridge inspections and to operate vehicles essential for close up inspection of structures. The position supports WSDOT’s mission by providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective transportation by ensuring the safety and reliability of the bridges on the state highway system.
This is an in-training position that offers a career path and on-the-job training. This position allows you to progress through the Bridge Engineer field and achieve the goal class of a Bridge Engineer 3. Candidates will be considered as a Bridge Technician 1, Bridge Technician 2, Bridge Engineer 1, 2 or 3, depending on their qualifications.
