LHI Senior Billing Coordinator – La Crosse, WI or US Remote

Senior Billing Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring invoice accuracy and working through specific billing discrepancies. This position will manage the preparation of invoices and complete reconciliation of billing with accounts receivables. Provide input on policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the premium billing function. Act as a resource for others.

Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Calculate and compile data and documentation to substantiate the validity of charges based on the individual contracts and / or government regulations
  • Invoice processing for assigned customer / contracts utilizing the services database and corporate account systems
  • Verification of corporate and customer electronic interface values
  • Participate in the development of ad hoc reporting and processes for specialized projects as requested by internal and external customers
  • Developmental Cross – Training

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate’s Degree (or higher) in Business / Finance / Accounting
  • 3+ years billing, accounts receivable and / or accounts payable experience  
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Excel with the ability to create, copy, edit, sort, create pivot tables, create vlookups, etc  
  • Ability to adjust workday hours during peak periods of activity to ensure timely and accurate delivery of invoices and reports
  • You will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s US Telecommuting Policy

  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group – approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:
  • General Accounting Experience
  • Database experience with the ability to import / export data
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
  • Knowledge of invoicing and claims processing in a medical setting
  • Experience in PeopleSoft Financials
  • Knowledge of Billing procedures / practices
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work in a deadline driver detail oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the proven ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to changing business requirements
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to understand the interaction between contracted and performed services
