The Candidate will execute planned work schedules, to include custodial work. Inspect assigned buildings and grounds to ensure that they are properly maintained. Coordinate with supervisor when outside contractors are designated site; ensures facilities meet the requirements of the agency. The candidate is required to perform minor plumbing and electrical tasks as needed. Candidate will assist in the Regional courier duties. Requisition equipment and supplies. Maintain supply, leave and timekeeping records.
Job Duties:
A. Maintain the daily upkeep, cleaning and maintenance for the Upstate Region facilities. Monitor surveillance cameras, as needed.
B. Perform routine preventive maintenance checks and services on building fixtures an appliances.
C. Serves as backup for maintenance, building and grounds, courier and supply room
D. Support WIC services, maintenance, supply and support.
E. Perform related duties as required. Participation in disaster preparedness.
MINIMUM AND ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
State Minimum Requirements: A high school diploma and custodial or groundskeeping experience directly related to the area of employment.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
Agency Additional Requirements: State requirements and Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop and stand for extended period of time: must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basis. Participate in disaster preparedness as outlined in the DHEC Upstate Region plan. During such times the incumbent is designated as an essential employee and subject to duty and/or call on a 24 hour basis. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation in the event a state vehicle isn't available.
