Department of Mental Health Care Manager

The Department of Mental Health Care Manager will provide clinical and case consultation to inpatient facilities, Designated Agency system, and other interagency emergency systems as needed. The incumbent will perform quality assurance reviews on clinical care in collaboration with the Children's Unit and/or Adult Unit director or designee. As a member of the team, incumbent will review clinical status of clients in inpatient hospital beds and will work with inpatient and community based treatment teams to recommend treatment approaches and discharge options. The Care Manager will identify potential issues related to treatment and discharge and makes appropriate recommendations to local teams to address these issues.

 

To be eligible for this position, candidates must currently be a licensed mental health professional such as Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor; OR be eligible for possession of Vermont license within six months of hire.

Master's degree in a mental health related field AND four (4) years of clinical experience in counseling, social work, psychology or nursing, including experience with adults, children and adolescents with severe emotional disturbance, including two (2) years of experience in a community-based system of care and knowledge of treatment options including inpatient treatment for adults, children and adolescents.
