THE POSITION
The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation (DOCCR) is seeking a Case Management Assistant at the Adult Corrections Facility. The Adult Corrections Facility, located in Plymouth, is a confinement center for adult offenders committed by the courts to serve a maximum sentence of one year. 

Location and hours:
This position is located at 1145 Shenandoah Ln N, Plymouth, MN 55447. The normal work hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There is no public transportation to this location.
 
In this position, you will:  
  • Review commitments for sentence and court ordered conditions.
  • Make appropriate referrals based upon commitment and assessment; meet with ACF residents assigned/non-assigned, perform basic triage, and answer questions.
  • Collaborate with Probation department and other professionals to accomplish court orders and a broad range of complex/non-complex technical and support functions directly related to resident service and case management, such as job seeking or medical related furloughs, verify (work release) employment, court ordered modifications, and other services in the commitment of order.
  • Collaborate with Probation Agent of Record to ensure commitment compliance and program requirements.
  • Facilitate evidence-based programming to residents of this facility and provide backup for teams within program and services.

Need to have:
  • One of the following:
  • Two years or more of paid social service or criminal justice experience providing direct client service.
  • A two-year Human Services Certificate.
  • Note: College coursework in the behavioral sciences can be substituted for the required work experience.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a Hennepin County driver's permit

Nice to have:
  • Experience:
  • Using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
  • Using Offender Management System (OMS), Court Services Tracking System (CSTS), and other criminal justice databases.
  • Ability to:
  • Document in an objective, clear, and concise manner.
  • Be flexible, multi-task while recognizing priorities, and meet established deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain rapport with staff, community resource providers, and other criminal justice professionals so that teamwork and collaboration are preserved.
  • Facilitate and teach evidence-based programming to residents of the facility.
  • Work effectively with an increasingly diverse client population.

The department runs institutions, a treatment center, adult and juvenile probation, supervised release, provides mediation in parenting custody disputes, and administers alternative sentencing programs.
