Title III ELL Interventionist

Educational Requirements: • Associates Degree OR 60 completed credit hours OR achieved minimum ETS Paraprofessional Assessment score of 460 OR achieved minimum WorkKeys test scores of: (4) Reading, (4) Math, and (3) Writing. • Preferred Spanish speaker but not required

JOB FUNCTION: The primary function of the job is to provide reinforcement of the lesson by extending guided reading and word-making practice to identified ELL students. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Participate in training before the start of the program as well as on-going training. 2. Work closely with classroom teachers and ELL staff to implement strategies to support identified EL students to be successful in the general education classroom. 3. Provide intervention to identified groups of students, which may include: reading with or to students, giving guidance while listening to students read, word-learning and word-analysis activities, assisting students in writing, and other literacy activities based on teacher provided lesson plans. 4. Communicate to classroom teacher and EL staff regarding progress of students. 5. Effectively manage students within small group and whole class learning situations. 6. Complete all required state and federal documentation, activity logs, including time and effort reports, annual certifications and/or personnel activity reports.
