Instrument/ Laboratory/ Environmental Specialist II

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Under minimal supervision, performs calibration, troubleshooting, repair, justification, modification, installation and maintenance of complex instrumentation, control systems and equipment.
  • Perform associated administration, report generating and record keeping which includes daily, monthly, quarterly and annual performance tests and certifying various emissions/effluent discharge, monitoring equipment.
  • Perform water lab functions.

REQUIREMENTS OF WORK
  • Effective performance required to assure station availability and reliability and profitable steam supply to customers.
  • Must have an in-depth working knowledge of steam and electric power generation, water quality control, plant equipment, environmental issues, regulatory requirements, and company and plant policies.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Requires high level of interpersonal skills to establish and maintain productive working relationships.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • vocational certificate in electronics or equivalent required
  • additional training in water chemistry desirable

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Four years or more of job related experience
