Finance Coordinator - Accounting Officer Principal

In this position, you will provide in-depth budget and financial analysis for the MN Department of Transportation (MnDOT) so that management staff are able make informed financial decisions and take action. You will help ensure that the agency meets its obligations in managing federal, state, and other funds, prepare and interpret budget related reports, advise agency personnel on procedures, and coordinate fiscal year closing requirements as it relates to all agency funds. You will prepare and maintain annual agency spending plans to ensure that the most appropriate and efficient utilization of resources are available to the agency, assist agency staff in biennial budget preparation, process and review accounting transactions, prepare and interpret budget related reports, coordinate fiscal year close, and reconcile agency revenue and expenditures. Lastly, you will perform fund statement analysis, long range fiscal strategic planning, and provide advanced level financial analysis.
