Petroleum Remediation Student Worker

Job Summary
The position will assist the Petroleum and Remediation Program (PRP) and Petroleum Brownfields Program (PBP), including in the following areas: preparing paper files for scanning, scanning paper files into Tempo/Onbase, entering spatial and other data into Tempo/Onbase, assisting Vapor Intrusion Project team with various assignments to facilitate completion of the closed site vapor investigation, verifying and entering well spatial data for EQUIS, and other tasks as determined by the unit supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Post-secondary education student working on an environmental degree. (To be eligible for appointment as a Student Worker you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student you must be enrolled in high school or in a post-secondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. You will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment.)

Preferred Qualifications:
Oral and written communication skills sufficient to communicate with internal and external customers.
Ability to work independently and with others.
Accomplished in using computer programs (Microsoft office products, e-mail, intranet, internet, outlook)
Ability to follow directions and carry-out detailed processes.

Physical Requirements
Job involves frequent use of computer and scanner, as well as lifting file boxes of roughly 15 pounds.

Driver's License
Position duties may require travel but driving is not a minimum qualification or essential function of this position. Employees who may drive for state business will need their driver’s license checked prior to operating a state vehicle.
