English Teacher (1-Year .25 Position)
The English teacher is a member of the school’s Upper Division (Grades 6-8) and reports to the Head of the Upper Division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching English, a love for the subject and for teaching middle school-aged students. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member who has had experience with applied learning and creating teaching materials to make English come alive in a classroom rich with differentiated instruction. At the Park School, faculty engage respectfully with families and demonstrate sensitivity to cultures, values, configurations, and beliefs. This is a 1 year, .25 FTE teaching position with the opportunity for additional stipend(s) for co-curricular programs and activities.

- Demonstrates deep understanding of the relationship between curriculum, subject matter, and child development
- Implements creative and innovative curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Uses technology tools to advance student learning and growth
- Differentiates instruction to reach all learners effectively
- Fosters a classroom environment where students feel comfortable to take risks, make mistakes, and be curious
- Works in partnership with students and their families
- Collaborates with department, grade-level and academic support colleagues
- Strong interpersonal skills with students and adults - patience, flexibility, empathy, and humor
- Strong communication skills
- Ensure that respect for diversity, equity, and inclusion is emphasized as a core value of the School.
- Teach one section of English in 7th Grade
- Previous experience and/or interest in athletic coaching is desirable.
