Women’s Health Systems’ Coordinator

Salary: $4853 - $7106 per month

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Section in Portland, OR is recruiting for a Women’s Health Systems’ Coordinator to provide leadership and strengthen the state and local maternal and child health systems.

What will you do?
As the Women’s Health Systems Coordinator, you will provide public health planning, policy and program development and coordination, quality improvement, consultative advice and evaluation expertise both internally to PHD staff, and externally to local county health departments, other state agencies, and community organizations. You will assist the MCH Section in strengthening MCH systems statewide. This position requires expertise to develop and implement statewide initiatives to improve the health of women, infants, children and families with a focus on mental health, trauma and toxic stress; alcohol, tobacco and other drug issues; the Oregon MothersCare Program, and issues regarding health systems and health system transformation and uninsured populations, as well as Title V Priorities.
While in this position, you will make recommendations to section and center management regarding policy and program needs and modifications, and develop guidelines and standards for program implementation and operations. You will collaborate with OHA and multiple public agencies and private partners to enhance maternal and child health throughout Oregon. The position works across the center, with primary responsibility to the Maternal and Child Health Section.

What are we looking for?
  • A bachelor's degree in Public Health or any degree demonstrating the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning work related to maternal and child health; OR any combination of experience and education equivalent to seven years of professional-level evaluative, analytical and planning experience related to maternal and child health
  • Experience working in health system change and transformation
  • Experience working in mental health, addictions and/or substance use disorder
  • Experience working with trauma, toxic stress and/or Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)
  • Experience in collaboration across multiple stakeholders
  • Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment
