SUPPORT STAFF QUALIFICATIONS:

Required: High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or experience; ability to perform physical tasks associated with the work; standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, climbing stairs, occasionally pushing or lifting objects up to 75 pounds.

Preferred: Two (2) years of college or post high school training and/or experience in auditorium management, technical operation, a fundamental knowledge of electronics and equipment repair, and an understanding of the operation and maintenance of sound and lighting equipment. Possess technical card certification or demonstrated proficiency in lighting, sound and safety operations. Essential: Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with school staff, students, and community members.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned. ● Perform total operation and maintenance of sound and light stage equipment. ● Operate console, staging, and stage rigging; supervise set construction and store securely. ● Organize, schedule, and supervise the usage of the theatre/auditorium. ● Coordinate production logistics with user groups. ● Supervise and operate all technical equipment in the auditoriums for scheduled events. ● Maintain accurate equipment inventory, recommend and schedule maintenance of lighting components, drapery and rigging. ● Submit equipment and facility proposals as necessary to maintain current and acceptable operational standards. ● Maintain facilities in a clean, safe, and secure manner by coordinating custodial services as needed. ● Train and work with student interns, volunteers and staff. ● Assist drama instructor, advisors, and administration to continue to build Muskegon High School’s drama and production program for students. ● Other duties as assigned.
