IT Systems Engineer-Windows


IT Systems Engineer-Windows

Full-Time Shift(s): Monday-Friday 8am-5pm 

OVERVIEW: 
Working as Full-Time IT Systems Engineer-Windows, you will be working in a team focused on the Winodws Server operating system and additional server components within the IT infrastructure. You will work to enhance the Windows Server infrastructure within the data center and serve as a technical Window server operating system resource for our technical support, development operations, and software development teams. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: 
o Monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Windows operating system 
o Engineering and maintaining automation throughout the operating environment 
o Managing the Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP for the operating environment 
o Monitoring and reviewing system logs while detecting and troubleshooting problems 
o Controlling system access and security aspects of critical systems 
o Working through a ticket queue and acting as a resource for resolving tickets/incidents that are submitted to the team for investigation 
o Providing 24x7 support on critical systems in an on-call rotation 
o Acting as an escalation point for the Help Desk, Technical Support, and other team members 

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position: 
o Possess or working towards a Degree in an Information Technology discipline OR have at least 3 years of Windows Server management work experience 
o Excellent written and oral communication skills 
o Knowledge of operating system tools for advanced troubleshooting 
o Knowledge in managing, monitoring, and supporting solutions within the Microsoft Azure/Office 365 environments 
o Highly motivated, self-directed and customer service oriented 
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities 
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, and decision making skills 
o Possess strong attention to detail and follow through 
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment 
o Ability and willingness to work a flexible scheduling, including on-call rotations 
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork 
o Ability to pass the required drug screen and background check (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY) 

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: 
o Possess a Microsoft professional certification 
o Prior administrative scripting with Powershell 
o Prior experience managing storage with Fibre Channel SAN's 
o Previous experience managing Windows guests within a virtualized environment 
o Knowledge with networking topology concepts
