May be placed in a permanent, Federal Government position upon successful completion of program requirements.

Location: Lakewood, Colorado

Salary Range: $41,320 to $53,722 per year with promotion potential to the GS-07

Work Schedule: Full-time

Duties:
As the Administrative Support Assistant for the Colorado State Office, you will:
  • Resolve clear cut personnel issues and actions based on evaluation of policies. Use various personnel systems.
  • Purchase supplies and equipment using DOI integrated charge card program.
  • Assist with travel arrangements, travel issues, review of travel records, and preparation of travel documents in automated travel system.
  • Validate time and attendance records in the automated payroll system, reviewing time and attendance records to ensure they are coded properly.
  • Prepare, edit, and finalize correspondence for supervisors and managers. Distribute, track and maintain issued correspondence, Instruction Memorandums and Information Bulletins. Maintain various files and reference information in the central filing system.
  • Provide general customer service to the public both orally and in writing. Respond to inquiries directly or refer individual to the appropriate staff members. Staff front desk and receive visitors. 

Eligibility:
  • Must be a Recent Graduate who has obtained a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution within the previous 2 years or other applicable period.

Qualifications:
  • You must show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (GS-05). Examples: maintaining files, processing mail, generating and reviewing correspondence, providing appropriate guidance and training to staff regarding travel matters and personnel issues; and preparing/processing office requisitions.
