IT Technician

Summary:
The Information Technology (IT) Technician is an energetic individual who will work with members of the company to ensure IT systems and equipment are working properly.

Responsibilities:
·         Monitor performance of the network, maintain the software and hardware, and analyze and recommend upgrades and vendor support as needed
·         Prioritize, plan, and conduct multiple simultaneous projects as necessary
·         Responsible for installation and configuration of PC operating systems and software packages for over 200 workstations
·         Troubleshoot and remedy network, hardware, and software connectivity issues
·         Administrate MS Windows Server 2008 environment.
·         Provide general support and maintenance for all in-house workstations, LANs & WANs
·         Plan, organize, and control the installation, maintenance, documentation, security, and operation of the PC network and related hardware and software elements
·         Document company standards and installation/troubleshooting techniques
·         Perform hardware and software problem analysis, definition and resolution as required
·         Perform and document daily backup to tape
·         Provide end user support as required.

Qualifications:
·        The IT Technician must have a minimum of 1 year of experience as an IT tech or intern, be a self-starting, motivated individual able to work independently as well as part of a team, strong problem solving and analytical skills, strong written and oral communication skills, proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and simple database applications, and possess a Valid Driver's license.
·        A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, ideally computer science or related discipline with an IT focus
·        Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
·        Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
·        Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine
·        Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
·        Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time
·        Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another
