Graphic Designer

OVERVIEW:
Working as a Part-Time Graphic Designer, you will design a variety of print and electronic media to support marketing initiatives and campaigns. This position requires you to work on multiple projects at once with tight deadlines. The type of projects can range from flyers and catalogs to tradeshow booths and website design.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
o Working primarily on the MAC platform to create and prepare digital artwork for a variety of media including print, web and video
o Working with the Graphics Manager, Art Director, other designers and marketing coordinators to uphold design standards of the Fastenal Brand
o Collaborating with Marketing coordinators to develop new creative messages and designs that support marketing initiatives
o Maintaining organization of digital and physical files throughout the production process

REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
The following skills and qualifications are required for this position:
o Possess or are working towards a Graphic Design or related Business degree OR have at least two years of relevant work experience in a creative environment
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite and have expert knowledge in Adobe CS, primarily InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
o Possess comprehensive knowledge of graphic design standards plus typography, layout production and prepress standards
o Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer service oriented
o Demonstrate strong organization, planning, and prioritizing abilities
o Exhibit strong problem solving, deductive reasoning, and decision making skills
o Posses strong attention to detail and follow through
o Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment with short lead times
o Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
o Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
o Ability to pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam ONLY)

PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
o Experience working with HTML, CSS, and OSX.
