Job Shop Coordinator Year 2 - AmeriCorps VISTA
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to support the development and implementation of programming for unemployed Adults and Teens, emphasizing skill development and workforce readiness and through workshops, partner-initiated programs, pop-up events and one on one sessions with subject experts.
You will support the efforts of the city and local organizations to increase employment in Anchorage and decrease “brain waste" as well as target individuals who want to enter or return to the work force, increase their income and improve their family’s standard of living.
The successful candidate will identify needs, apply for grants and liaise with library staff on programming that can integrate with the goals of the Dept. of Labor, the Anchorage Public Library and the VISTA mandate to alleviate poverty.
You will serve in Anchorage, a one-of-a-kind beautiful and diverse city at base of Chugach Mountains. Benefits include: Monthly living allowance ($1,333), relocation costs ($0.34/mile up to $1000) and settling in allowance ($550), health benefits, child care assistance, training, and an Education Award ($5,815) or cash stipend ($1,500).
