
Seasonal Park Ranger - Interpretive
Description:
The job is located at Pipestone National Monument – Pipestone,
Minnesota. Duties include: developing interpretive programs
such as informational trail walks, visitor center displays, and
off site interpretive programs. Employee will also provide
visitor services interpreting the park’s cultural, natural, and
archeological features through talks, roving assignments, and
outreach programs; working at an information desk; collecting
fees; and assisting with resource management programs. Employee
assists in collecting visitation data, informs visitors
concerning National Park Service regulations and policy, and
operates AV equipment.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, will include weekends,
evenings, holidays and may require some overtime. Before starting
the job the applicant will be subject to fingerprinting and a
background investigation.
Qualification Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: You must show one year of specialized experience
equivalent to at least the GS-04 level in the federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience that has equipped
the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and
abilities (KSA’s) to perform successfully the duties of the
position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the
position to be filled.

EDUCATION: You must provide transcripts or other documentation to
support your educational claims.
Undergraduate and Graduate Educations: Major study -natural
resource management, natural sciences, earth sciences, history,
archeology, anthropology, park and recreation management, law
enforcement/police science, social sciences, museum sciences,
business administration, public administration, behavioral
sciences, sociology, or other closely related subjects pertinent
to the management and protection of natural and cultural
resources.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience are
qualifying.
