Examples of Duties:

1. Provide direct student support and assistance to available resources to CalWORKs students.
2. Assist economically disadvantaged and culturally diverse students in a culturally competent and trauma-informed manner.
3. Refer students to academic and student support services within the institution.
4. Provide technical information to students, instructors, counselors, and others in the assigned program; works with students, counselors, instructors, and other staff to address students' needs and their progress within the assigned program; advocate for the student to other service providers.
5. Assist in the outreach and recruitment of CalWORKs eligible student-parents to participate in the CalWORKs program.
6. Provide administrative support related to the operations of the CalWORKs Work Study Program. Collaborate with Student Employment Office and work with Department Supervisors to resolve student worker WS awards and budget. Conduct both student and supervisor WS workshops. Coordinate the on and off-campus FWS outreach efforts.
7. Monitor requests and schedule students for program service, and keep records of schedule changes.
8. Maintain confidentiality and assist economically disadvantaged and culturally diverse students to meet their educational and career goals by providing budgetary assistance and making referrals as appropriate.
9. Meet schedules and timelines. Analyze situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action.
10. Communicate effectively orally and in writing, establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a wide variety of students, staff, administrators, and community members using tact, patience and courtesy.
11. Develop and maintain partnerships with San Francisco county, community-based organizations, local agencies. Attend local working group meetings and stakeholder meetings concerning single parents' students and higher education.
12. Lead workshops for alert status students in assisting them with meeting the requirements of the CalWORKs Standards of Conduct.
13. Actively participate in new technology, update procedures/training manual.
14. Demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of CalWORKs Program including the unique needs of the current program participants.
15. Provide information and assistance to District employees, students, and others where judgment, knowledge, and interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations related to state and federal financial aid are required.
16. Other related duties as assigned.
