Corrections Division Manager

The Department of Community Corrections and Rehabilitation's (DOCCR) Community Offender Management (COM) Division is seeking a Corrections Division Manager to lead and manage the Sentencing to Service (STS), STS Homes, and Electronic Home Monitoring (EHM) programs.
 
The mission of the DOCCR is to promote community safety, community restoration, and reduce the risk of re-offense.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the division; oversee the activity of all staff.
  • Establish and modify division policies and procedures consistent with department policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate integrated operations and programs for efficiency and effectiveness; ensure quality assurance methods are in place.
  • Ensure that the work of the division is grounded in evidence-based practices for the day-to-day operations.
  • Confer with and coordinate division activities with allied agencies in the justice system and confer with community organizations.
  • Prepare and administer a budget for a large scale operation.
  • Represent COM in county-wide projects and initiatives; develop, organize, and present data regarding divisional meetings/activities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other county departments and stakeholders.
  • Develop objectives, standards, and controls necessary for administration of division programs and services in COM.
  • Recognize and respect cultural differences and provide culturally appropriate services.
Best Qualified Candidates will have:
  • One of the following:
    • Master's degree or higher in criminal justice, behavioral/social science, business administration, correctional administration, public administration or a closely related field and four years or more of experience in corrections.
    • Bachelor's degree in one of the above-cited fields and five years or more of the required experience, including two years of the required experience in administration or supervision.
    • Experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Experience:
    • Developing client focus work readiness programs.
    • Working with contracted vendors and community based organizations.
    • Managing and/or reviewing contracts and monitoring service provision.
    • Developing and administering a complex budget.
    • Assessing and developing effective evidence-based programs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively with an increasingly diverse client population.

Individuals convicted for any level of Criminal Sexual Conduct are disqualified from being hired into any position within the DOCCR under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA). Other past involvement with the criminal court system will not automatically disqualify you from working at the DOCCR; individual circumstances are reviewed and evaluated confidentially.
