Job Description Summary:
Registered Nursing Pool: Part-time Clinical Instructors
Our need is to establish a "POOL" of approved Registered Nurse instructors and substitutes for part-time assignment during the year for medical-surgical clinical teaching assignments in the Nursing and Allied Health Division. Opportunities are: Clinical days --- Monday-Tuesday or Wednesday-Thursday.
Essential Functions & Qualifications:
Required:
-A current California Registered Nursing License.
-Bachelors degree with 2 years experience in related field;
OR
-Associate degree with 6 years experience in related field;
OR
-The equivalent (candidates making application on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment, indicated on the Equivalency Process link). OR -A valid Community College credential in the discipline;
AND
-At least one year's experience, within the previous five years, as a registered nurse providing direct patient care in the related field OR teaching experience in a school of nursing as approved by the Board of Registered Nursing.
-Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Desirable:
-Teaching experience in the discipline, community college level preferred;
-Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds; ability to bend, twist, push and pull.
