POSTION: Speech and Language Pathologist
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. No physical or mental restrictions that would, with reasonable accommodation. prevent performance of essential job
functions and responsibilities.
2. Possession of a Master's degree of better in Speech Pathology.
3. Possession of ASHA Certification (CCC). ClinicalFellowship considered with supervision available.
4. Valid Michigan Speech-Language Pathology accreditation. Experience working with young children/ infants and their
families.
5. Travel throughout MAISD community required.
6. Lifting, sitting on the floor, stooping, crouching, bending required.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Develops individualized communication programs for students utilizing spoken language and augmentative and
alternative communication systems and provides supports to families.
2. Implements directly, trains and supervises in the implementation and monitoring of communication programs
utilizing spoken language and augmentative and alternative communication systems and assessment tolls.
3. Provides resources, staff development/training activities, and consultation services to staff, other professionals,
parents, guardians, and care givers to support communication programs for children utilizing spoken language and
augmentative and alternative communication systems.
4. Uses appropriate data gathering procedures and strategies to conduct a needs-based assessment utilizing a team
approach.
5. Participates in student meetings, to include, but not limited to, IFSP and IEP meetings.
6. Assists team members with community playgroups.
7. Oversees application/approval of funding for speech generating devices as needed.
8. Performs such other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Supervisor.

TERMS: This position is a full-time (205 days-per-year) position offering full benefits.
SALARY RANGE: This position is on the MMSE Salary Schedule- $27.45-31.35 per hour (Steps 1 - 4) depending on experience
and education.
