Senior Resource Coordinator

Perform professional work in grant management processes of moderate skills in planning processes of moderate to substantial difficulty.
 
Salary Range:  $25.34 - $35.07/hour

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Responsible for grant seeking, preparation of grant proposals, grant administration and grant financial management.  
• Perform lead work in organizing and coordinating projects and reviewing the work of others.
• Function as a team member on multidisciplinary projects.
• Prepare or assist in preparing technical, physical, economic, social or statistical data to aid in planning activities.
• Analyze and make recommendations on all elements of planning using knowledge of community development or organizational design.
• Assist boards, commissions and committees as required and work with city department groups on planning or grant funded projects.
• Attend professional seminars and workshops to maintain current knowledge of state and national trends and developments.

Working Conditions:
Normal office setting.
 
Required Qualifications:

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Public Administration/Public Affairs, Political Science, Economics, Business Management or Community, Urban or Regional Planning, or a related field or equivalent.

Required Experience:
Two years of related professional experience in grant management or related administrative experience in a government or non-profit setting.

Equivalency:
An equivalent combination of education and highly related experience in a similar environment may be considered.

Selection Process:
Decisions concerning an applicant's qualifications for this position will be based on information provided in one's application materials. The following tests may be used as part of the selection process: an evaluation of education, training, and experience; an oral exam; a written exam; work simulation exercises, candidate assessments; and/or other relevant selection tools. (Passing score is 70%). At each step of the process, HR reserves the right to limit the number of applicants to be tested.

Union Representation:
This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement between the City of Minneapolis and MPEA.

The eligible list will expire two months after being established.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Experience with Federal HUD funding programs is highly desirable.
• Experience managing contractual agreements and nonprofit funding is desirable.
• Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices and principles used in grant management.
• Considerable knowledge of research methods, statistical analysis and sources of data.
• Considerable knowledge of grant funded operations and management and related state and federal laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of government procedures budgeting, financial accounting for grants.
• Knowledge of software packages, e.g., Word, Excel, Access, GIS.
• Ability to research, collect, compile and analyze data and present results clearly and effectively.
• Good analytical, critical thinking and time management skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to bring considerable levels of integrity and trust when working with internal and external programs and with funding partners.
